  Event 3 Blog For my third event blog, I attended Claudia Schnugg’s discussion titled “Color Light Motion—Experiencing Realities: from fine-grained data to cosmic events” on June 3rd, 2023.  screenshot of event registration During this discussion, Claudia shared several really cool art pieces which play with colors, light, and motion to showcase and create beautiful realities ranging from miniscule everyday objects to cosmic phenomena. One of the projects Claudia mentioned was the “Orbits” from Quadrature. This project focused on “the aesthetics of man-made objects in space” ( Orbits ), visually illustrating the pathways of satellites as they revolve around the Earth. It was really cool to see how using mixed mediums to acquire the satellite ranging data—from NASA itself, to observations made by fanatic star-gazers, to scientific measurements—the artists were able to visually track and create the beautiful pathways taken upon by the satellites in orbit.
